Overview
After his release from prison, a man knows exactly where he's headed. Captivated by a traditional comic storyteller's performance of "Shinigami," he's dead set on becoming his apprentice. The storyteller, Yakumo, has never taken on a student, but surprisingly agrees, giving the ex-con the nickname "Yotaro." As Yotaro settles into his new life, he meets Konatsu, Yakumo's ward. She's the daughter of a celebrated storyteller, taken in after her father's tragic death. Though she adored his art and longs to perform herself, that path remains closed to women.
