Episode Overview

After the play’s success, Kikuhiko feels a new confidence as the audience hangs on his every word and gesture. Sukeroku shares that he felt the same way during the war, and from that moment on, he vowed to perform rakugo for the people. He asks Kikuhiko what his own purpose is. But Kikuhiko, who has always treated rakugo as a means to secure a place to live, has never once stopped to think about it.
