Tess is leading a class-action lawsuit on behalf of a group of former workers against the family-run Fairchild Tobacco. Facing her in court is Marc Hamilton, who has taken on this case despite his mother, Esther, being unhappy about it. In his childhood, both she and his late father were employed by Fairchild, with his mother serving as a maid and his father as a chauffeur.
