It’s Edna’s birthday, and the girls want to surprise her with a gift. Although Blair offers to handle it, Jo, Natalie, and Tootie choose to pick out their own present. They settle on a trendy Hawaiian shirt for Mrs. Garrett, especially since it’s on sale. However, when they arrive at the store, they learn the sale has ended. In a moment of desperation, Jo opts to steal the shirt. Later, when Mrs. Garrett attempts to return it, she finds out it was taken without permission.
