Episode Overview

On August 12, 1985, a catastrophic failure occurs on Japan Airlines Flight 123 when the rear pressure bulkhead ruptures on a Boeing 747SR. This disaster results in the loss of the vertical stabilizer and the failure of all four hydraulic systems. Despite the dire situation, the flight crew manages to maintain control for 32 minutes before the aircraft strikes Mount Osutaka and crashes, leading to the tragic loss of 520 lives, leaving only four survivors from the total of 524 individuals on board.
