When Charles and Ben find their tractor bogged down in mud, they scramble to devise a plan to sow hayseed in their field ahead of the arrival of their livestock. The Pol family is also on a mission to uncover the reason for their unusually soggy land, despite the dry spell. Simultaneously, Dr. Pol lends a hand to Charles and Beth as they establish their inaugural beehive colonies at the new farm.
