On June 25, 1957, Sam finds himself inhabiting the body of Al Calavicci, aiming to save Al's married girlfriend from a tragic fate. However, when Sam inadvertently changes the course of history, he learns too late that she has met a grim end. This unexpected twist not only jeopardizes Al's life, potentially leading him to the gas chamber, but also creates an unsettling shift within Project Quantum Leap itself.
