A fresh second-in-command arrives at Colditz, yet Major Mohn, a highly respected and decorated officer, is intent on waging his own war within the castle. Simon Carter, struggling with a non-healing broken ankle, is ready to confront him directly. Their psychological clash begins to take a toll on both the Kommandant and Colonel Preston, who finds himself in the position of having to select a new officer to oversee escape efforts.
