Haunted by her tough middle school experiences, Futaba has settled for shallow friendships in high school. Kou aptly labels these connections as "friends-in-name-only." One day, Futaba comes across her classmate, Makita Yuuri, who is isolated by the other girls for her "cutesy girl act" and is seen eating lunch by herself.
