Elena, feeling anxious, introduces Pietro to her family. He quickly wins over his future in-laws with his charisma, but Immacolata is against their idea of a civil wedding ceremony. Fast forward a few months, Lila falls sick from the terrible conditions at the Soccavo factory and makes Elena vow to look after her son, Gennaro, should anything happen to her.
