Jim Hardie receives a lead that brings him to Wagner, Montana, where he's on the hunt for criminals. While staying at the hotel, he encounters Laurie Hammer, who had left home to be with the outlaw Will Carver. Jim informs her that he recently met her parents, who are eager for her to come back.
