Episode Overview

As part of a health class assignment, Mr. Belding assigns the boys and girls to take care of computer chip-controlled babies for a week. Ryan is thrilled to be with Rachel and wants to express his feelings for her, but the incessant crying of the baby keeps interrupting him. Meanwhile, Nicky and Maria neglect their responsibilities, as Nicky is eager to host a coffeehouse night at the Max while Maria dreams of performing there, both unwilling to deal with the baby. Katie and Eric are also parents in this project, with Eric being a hands-on father. However, when the baby develops a fever while in Katie's care, he doubts her parenting skills. During the coffeehouse event at the Max, the couples end up in loud arguments, and the chaos from the babies disrupts Maria's performance, driving away the crowd. Mr. Belding warns them that if they don’t get their act together as parents in three days, they will all fail the project.
