Hinata and Kageyama face off against some fellow first-years, joined by second-year Tanaka. As they prepare for the match early one morning, Hinata insists that Kageyama toss him the ball. Kageyama, however, dismissively replies, “I don’t see you being crucial to our victory,” and declines to throw it to him.
