Episode Overview

As a storm approaches, Adam seeks shelter at a way station managed by the irritable Jesse and his curious granddaughter, Marty, who dreams of exploring beyond their confines. They soon encounter Luke Martin, a fugitive on the run from a posse. He offers Marty a hollow promise of adventure, but Adam intervenes, urging Luke to leave her out of it. While everyone but Marty is relieved when Luke departs, he soon returns and takes them hostage, desperate to shield himself from the pursuing lawmen.
