Episode Overview
Homer Bedloe, an investigator for the C&F W Railroad, is dispatched by President Norman P. Curtis to the quaint town of Hooterville to uncover the reason why a branch line fails to link with the main track. This branch line is crucial for the "Cannonball" train, which supports the Shady Rest Hotel, owned by Kate Bradley and her three adult daughters, along with "Uncle Joe" Carson. If Bedloe manages to halt the Cannonball, Kate's business could face disaster. John Ashley makes an appearance as passenger Fred.
