Plot
In "The Quiet American," a jaded British journalist named Fowler becomes infatuated with a youthful Vietnamese woman. His feelings are complicated when a well-meaning American official enters the scene, vying for her affection. Frustrated by this competition, Fowler takes a drastic step by revealing to the communists that the American is involved in arms dealing with their foes, setting off a chain of events that intertwines love, betrayal, and the complexities of foreign intervention in Vietnam.
