Plot

After ditching her South American lover, Emile Renaul, socialite Letty Lynton heads back to New York, where she meets charming Jerry Darrow on the ship and falls for him. But Renaul’s waiting for her in the city, refusing to let go. Desperate, Letty poisons him. When detectives bring her in for questioning, Jerry quickly fabricates an alibi to keep her out of trouble.
