Ian Ritchie is a multifaceted English musician recognized for his contributions as a composer, record producer, arranger, and saxophonist. His notable work includes producing Roger Waters' acclaimed album, *Radio K.A.O.S.*, and collaborating with an array of artists such as Laurie Anderson on *Strange Angels*, Pete Wylie with *Sinful*, Hugh Cornwell for *Wolf*, and the Big Dish's *Swimmer*. In the 1980s, he also partnered with the innovative singer-songwriter Gary Numan.
Ritchie is perhaps best known for composing "The Globe Trekker Theme," formerly titled "The Lonely Planet Theme," which serves as the signature music for the travel series *Globe Trekker*. He is a member of the renowned Liverpool-based theatre rock ensemble Deaf School and recorded several singles during the '80s under the alias Miro Miroe. In 2016, he participated in the landmark Desert Trip concerts at Coachella, and from 2017 to 2018, he toured globally with Roger Waters' *Us + Them*, performing in 157 venues worldwide.
