Elie Honig (born April 3, 1975) is an American attorney and legal commentator, best known as the senior legal analyst for CNN. A graduate of Rutgers University and Cornell Law School, Honig began his legal career as a clerk for a federal judge before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey. As an assistant United States Attorney, he prosecuted major organized crime, drug trafficking, and violent crime cases, earning a reputation for his work on complex federal trials.
